PCP GENERAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS
AS OF SEPTEMBER 2016
ANDY MATTHEWS - CHAIRMAN
Andy was born on Portland in 1956 and now lives in Southwell. He has been involved with the voluntary and community sector for a number of years and has been a Trustee for various organisations.
Andy has supported the Community Partnership for several years and has been its representative on a number of initiatives and he believes that the Island needs a community partnership that must continually evolve so as to be seen to be valid and important. The Government’s localism initiative could be very important for the Island if we take opportunities and with that in mind I took on the chairmanship.

Apart from the welfare of Portland young people, Graham is also interested in helping those who find it difficult to help themselves.
Graham Is also a volunteer for Dorset Advocacy and is training as a visitor at the Verne.
He added 'I am particularly interested I setting up a Community Land Trust to provide genuinely and permanently affordable homes, so that people are no longer priced out of the Portland neighbourhoods they call home. I would also like to ensure that the Partnership publicises its work and consults in a meaningful way with the community which it serves'

Angie has lived on Portland for over 25 years. She is Operations Director of Portland Heights Hotel, with over 30 years experience in the leisure and hospitality industry. She is very supportive of the Partnership developing the tourism side of its work.

The Portland Community Partnership was formed to carry on the good work of the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB). The SRB on Portland was so successful because it was made up and delivered by a wide variety of partners including statutory and voluntary agencies, as well as members of the public. This ethos has been carried on by the PCP. Formally constituted in 2001, The Partnership works with other organisations and charities to deliver Portland projects and ideas. It plays a key role in strategic planning and ensures that all issues and ideas are discussed at its open meetings. See 'Latest News' for minutes of the last PCP meetings and other information.
